Greece’s Arianna Huffington just ranked 28th on Forbes 100 Most Powerful Women in the World list! Forbes published its list on Wednesday, October 6th.
The 100 Most Powerful Women in the World list was restructured this year as Forbes reexamined the meaning of power. Historically power has been linked with title and wealth levels. Now in a world heavily dominated by the internet and social networks, a woman doesn’t necessarily have to be rich or distinguished to have a huge following. Females were chosen from political, media, business, lifestyle and entertainment sectors.
Arianna Huffington was born in Athens with the original surname of Stassinopoulou (Στασινοπουλου). At sixteen, Huffington moved to England to attend Girton College at Cambridge University where she received an M.A. in economics.
