Minister of Employment Announces Wage Reductions

Aiming to help thousands of businesses about to close, the Minister of Employment announced wage reductions of 400.000 employees.
The reductions will be of limited time.  It will allow employers to pay their staff not based on the sectoral wage agreements but according to special corporate agreements that will be signed.
The exact rules of the new measures are still being discussed.  They will be publicized within the next few weeks.
New projects are also being launched by OAED -the Organization for  Employment that will help businesses by financing security fee payments.
The government expects there will be 145.000 newly unemployed workers in 2011 and the unemployment rate will reach 14,5% of the work force.
