Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao will give a clear “vote of confidence” in the prospects of Greek economy when he visits the country from October 2-4th. This was stated by the official Xinhua News Agency on Friday and China΄s Ambassador to Greece Luo Linquan, according to Dow Jones Newswires.
Wen΄s visit to Greece comes as the nation is facing “temporary difficulties” and China is taking practical actions to assist Greece and the European Union to overcome their crisis. Luo was quoted in an interview with Xinhua.
He added that at Greece’s Piraeus port, China and Greece are working together to build the largest distribution and transit center between Asia and Europe. He pointed to China’s Cosco Pacific Ltd., which secured a 35 year concession to operate a terminal at the port starting from October last year.
China and Greece will support companies from both countries to expand cooperation in ports, shipping, and logistics Luo told Xinhua. The two countries will also expand their cooperation in transportation, information technology, infrastructure and new energy development he added.
