Rep. Zack Space is one of five Greek-American members of the United States House of Representatives.
Congressman Space proudly serves on both the House Energy Committee and Commerce and Veterans’ Affairs Committee.

Recently Congressman Space visited the greater Los Angeles area to attend a fundraiser for his campaign.  The fundraiser was organized by fellow Greek-Americans and other supporters. Talking to Greek Reporter, Congressman Space emphasized the importance of his seat.  Space stated: “It could be my seat that makes the difference in the house, this is why I am asking for everybody’s support.”

All of the distinguished guests and donors agreed that this seat may be the one that will make the difference in the election, considering that the Congressman’s district is a swing district in Ohio.  Speaking about the difference of this election Space pointed out the manifestation of the econiomic crisis in the political climate.  “The main difference in this election is that the political climate is different. I think it is a manifestation of the economic climate. This economic climate has really triggered a lot of frustration and anger among voters that have been hit hard by it.  I would prefer my constituents to make their decision after looking at my record in Congress and how I have acted, and what I care about,  not purely based on an antidemocratic tide.”

The fundraiser took place Matthew Dababneh’s home.  He is Congressman Brad Sherman’s (CA-27) chief of staff. The hosting comittee included Dino & Stella Andrianos, Theodore & Eleftheria Polychronis, Aris & Isaura Anagnos, Michael Galanakis, Tasos Chassiakos and Greek actor Alexis Georgoulis.

The congressman also informed Greek Reporter about a brief meeting he had with Greece’s Prime Minister during his  last visit to Washington, D.C.  “I had a brief meeting with Prime Minister Papandreou in Washington at the reception that President Obama held for the heads of countries that attended the UN general assembly. We didn’t have a chance to talk about much but I am glad I got to see him.”
