Coach Costas Spanidis Dies Tragically in Auto Accident

Coach Costas Spanidis was killed in a highway accident in the northern region of the country on Monday reported Thessaloniki police. AFP stated that Spanidis who is 51 died after his car collided with a van parked on the safety lane on the Thessaloniki-Moudania highway.
Police said that the ambulance crew that reached the scene found no visible injuries, leading to suspicions that he may have suffered a fatal heart attack.A coach to former discus champion Tassoula Kelesidou, Spanidis had been appointed to the post last year after a previous stint between 2005 and 2008.
