Redevelopment of Greek region with government funds

The Greek quarter of Oakley, and especially the road Eaton Mall, will soon be redeveloped and have a Greek character, since this place is traditionally the Greek  hang – out.

According to an announcement of James Merlino, Minister Assisting the Premier on Multicultural Affairs who visited the quarter in Oakley, the government will commit a fund of 12 million dollars for the redevelopment of many regions connected with many groups of different nationalities.

Mr. Merlino told about the importance of the Greek presence in the development of the region and underlined that this work will help the businesses in Eaton Mall.

The money for the redevelopment of another Greek quarter, the historic Lonsdale Street were given by the same fund, the Cultural Precinct &Community Infrastructure Fund.
