Greek Trade deficit slightly down

Greece’s trade deficit totaled 8.9 billion euros in April 2010, down 700 million euros compared with the same month last year, Eurostat said on Friday. The EU executive’s statistics agency, in a report, said Greek exports totaled 4.7 billion euros, while imports totaled 13.5 billion euros in the month. Greek exports rose 2.0 pct and imports fell 5.0 pct in 2009.
Eurostat said Germany (50.5 billion euros) and Holland (14.6 billion euros) recorded the biggest trade surplus in the EU-27, while the UK (33.8 billion euros) and France (18.9 billion euros) the biggest trade deficits.
Eurozone recorded a trade deficit of 3.4 billion euros with the rest of the world in May, while the EU-27 also recorded a trade deficit of 15.1 billion euros.
