EU member-states that have not recognised KOSOVO won’t change their positions

The resolution of the European Parliament adopted on July 8 and calling on EU states that have not recognized Kosovo to do so will not influence their stand, judging by preliminary reactions.

The unilaterally proclaimed independence of Kosovo has not been recognized by Greece, Cyprus, Slovakia, Romania and Spain. We do not expect the stand of Cyprus to be changed due to the resolution, Ambassador of Cyprus in Belgrade Homer Mavromatis said, adding Cypriot MPs in the European Parliament reacted against the call for recognition of Kosovo. Slovakian Deputy Ambassador in Belgrade Jan Pšenica confirmed Slovakia would not recognize Kosovo.
Greek MPs did not vote for the resolution either and in his recent interview to DANAS, Greek Ambassador Dimostenis Stoidis emphasized the stand of Greece would not change and remains in accordance with the international law.
