Greek- German Cooperation

G. Nikitiadis went to Berlin in order to realize contacts with the corresponding Minister for Civilization of Germany, Ernst Burgbacher and the President of the Federal Association of the German Tourism Industry, Klaus Brahmig as well as with the representatives of the German-Greek parliamentary friendship group.
G.Nikitiadis aimed at the improvement of the Greek- German relations as far as the tourism is concerned. During their meeting, the two Ministers agreed on the immediate implementation of the common announcement of the Greek Prime Minister and the German Chancellor as this announcement also reflected tourism issues.
In addition, the Greek Minister suggested that the two Ministers for Civilization and Tourism inaugurate the committee which will implement the agreement between Papandreou and Merkel.
During the meeting, the atmosphere was warm enough and the two Ministers discussed about the perspectives to invest in Greece in the framework of the new Development Law which is going to be voted by the Greek Parliament.
Afterwards, Mr. Nikitiadis met the President of the Federal Association of the German Tourism Industry, Klaus Brahmig. He stated that is on the Greek side and is ready to help the country. Mr. Nikitiadis asked the German member of the Parliament to mediate to the organizers of great tourist expositions so that Greece could be one of the honored countries. Mr. Klaus Brahmig accepted immediately the invitation to spend his holidays in Greece.
Moreover, trying to reverse the adverse atmosphere towards Greece, Mr. Nikitiadis met also representatives of the German-Greek parliamentary friendship group. They expressed their intention to organize a meeting for the Greek tourism in Germany, inviting representatives of all the productive classes in Germany.
Then, Mr. Nikitiadis analyzed during the press conference why Greece constitutes a unique destination and developed the philosophy of the new law to compensate the tourists when because of extraordinary facts they delay return back.
