Once more, the Turkey challenges in the Agean sea. This time with a gunboat! Yesterday, at 05:20 a.m the Turkish ship “tsesme” came out from the straits accompanied by a Turkish gunboat and headed for Samothrace. The Turkish float in the national waters 15 miles away of the island in the open sea. However, their presence itself constitutes a challenge as their “searching” ship is accompanied by the battleship. The Greek government follows the plan of “equal powers” and commanded a Greek gunboat to watch tenderly the turkish movements. The Sortie of the Turkish warship in the Aegean Sea takes place a few days after the Greek Government announced that permissions to search for petrol in the Aegean Sea will be given to Greek companies. The Pentagon is on alert for the Turkish actions and their effect on the relationship between the two countries.
Today, the Turkish have started a psychological “war” against Greece! Their “search” boat “Tsesme” ,is shuttling northwards of Samothrace looking for petrol. Yesterday, at 18:00 and after 24 hours of research, the ship returned to the Turkish National territorial Waters. However, before the alarm in Pentagon was terminated, the warship “Warrior”, which had shadowed the Turkish one, informed the greek Government that the Turkish ship came back to the International territorial Waters and started a new course of research. From 22:00 p.m last night, the turkish “search” boat is floating in the International Territorial Waters near Samothrace.
