Three-Year Freeze in Private Sector Salary’s

The Government’s spokesman, George Petalotis, announced a legislation that states a three-year salary freeze in the private sector. Despite the fact, that they haven’t completed the negotiations with the trade unions and employers for the signing of a new collective convention bargaining agreement.
While answering at a journalist question, George Petalotis said, “This decision has been made, the way it’s going to be carried out is an editorial matter.”
When asked about the possibility of having an early re-election due to the fact that some of the party’s members might vote against the changes in the insurance and labor bill, the government spokesman denied it being an issue. Thus, continued by saying that, in such a case, the Government would be held hostage of dissidents, “the government is determined and has proven it these past few months, to go on with these major changes.”
George Petalotis, stated that the matter of elections will only come in to consideration, only after we have overcome the economic crisis. “What we care about, is to, formulate all these big changes. Exit the country from the crisis and implement our program and vision as a Government for which we committed to the Greek people,” he said.
He does not exclude the possibility of making changes, regarding the bill, but, all of them will be within the framework of the Committee. “Changes should be compatible with the general spirit of the insurance and labor legislation “.
