Drug Addict Sentenced 18 Years Jail for Shooting Greek Partner in 2009

In a court case it was ruled that a South Australian man murdered his partner after unpredictable relationship that was affected due to drug abuse. The accused have been sentenced to 18 years jail for the heinous crime.
Mark Scott Bampton killed Greek Donna Louise Petropoulos at Angas Valley, northeast of Adelaide, in the year 2009.
It has been known that 36-year-old accused shot the female in the head after they had a whole day of unreasonable arguments. The fight ignited due to drug use. The case was heard by Justice John Sulan on Friday in the South Australian Supreme Court.
In the sentencing, Justice John said that Bampton, due to fright after the shooting, wrapped the body of Ms. Petropoulos in a blanket and then he put the dead body in a shed on the property.
Following this, he fled for shooting himself or for becoming a prey of Police shoot at the time of the arrest. It has been noted that that Bampton surrendered without any opposition when police found him in Adelaide in his car.
Justice Sulan stated that origin of Bampton’s impulsive and angry behavior can be accounted to his disturbed childhood and his habit of drug addiction.
The court also declared that the murder was not planned.
According to the judge, the incident occurred in a situation where deceased and the charged both were affected by drugs.
