Letter of the Hellenic – American Educators Federation

“The sudden recall of teachers, as well as the decision of the Ministry not to send new educators for the next academic year, leaves us all unprepared and without an alternative solution for the continuation of the operation of Greek Programmes”, states the Chairman of the Federation of Hellenic – American Educators and the President of the Committee of Education of the World Council of Hellenes Abroad in USA, Stella Kokolis, in her letter addressed to the President of the Special Permanent Committee for Greeks Abroad of the Greek Parliament, Ms. Elpida Tsouri (photo).
Subsequently, Ms. Kokoklis, underlines that “during the past years and especially over the last decade, the Greek Ministry of Education, considerably supported these schools by sending detached educators, encouraging us to make plans for further development (especially with regards to Charter Schools of Greek Interest).”
In conclusion she noted that “for this reason, we ask an immediate plan for a meeting of the Special Permanent Committee for Greeks Abroad of the Diaspora on the subject of detached educators abroad”.
