Musician Moby bought the home once known as Wolf’s Lair. The Norman-style castle (see more pics here) sits under the Hollywood sign high above Los Angeles’ Beachwood Canyon. The estate had a huge price drop from $7.5 million (the price the house was listed for in June 2008) to $4.7 million. The home was owned by TV personality Debbie Matenopoulos and Lionsgate Entertainment music executive Jay Faires. The couple reportedly bought in 2002 for $2.9 million and are selling to Moby for $3.925 million.
The 5,485-square-foot castle sits on 3.3 acres, and includes a two-bedroom guest house, heart-shaped black-bottom pool, and eight bedrooms. The main castle offers hand painted coffered ceilings, linen fold paneling, carved & stenciled beams, gabled windows and thick plaster walls. The LA Times Hot Property column reports that Moby will be restoring the property although the listing pics we saw don’t look too shabby at all.
