A season of Hellenic-themed films is beginning on More4/Channel4 this week. “The Ancient World with Bettany Hughes” is a series of episodes presenting great achievements of the ancient world, hosted by Bettany Hughes, a historian, author and broadcaster.
The first episode was on Alexandria – to be followed by documentaries on Egypt, the Minoans, Helen of Troy, the Spartans, Athens and the Moors in Europe. For those who do not have access to British television, each episode will be available on line, after it airs on television.
