XAOS1Chaos was the nothingness from which all else sprang in Greek Mythology
An exhibition of three up and coming Greek Australian Artists: Elli Ioannou, Christiana Livaditis and Nicole Polenta
The Hellenic Museum together with the Hellenic Foundation for Culture have great pleasure in supporting this exhibition and to applaud the talents and works of Christiana Livaditis, Nicole Polenta and Elli Ioannou.
These remarkable young women have accomplished so much in their fields of art and should be celebrated as the voices of our tomorrow.
They have worked tirelessly to put together this exhibition and it with great enthusiasm that we champion their efforts.
Duration of the exhibition 24 March – 15 April, 2010 at the Hellenic Museum, 280 William Street, Melbourne.

Elli IOANNOU – Photographer
Elli Ioannou is a Melbourne based photographer specializing in contemporary fashion and art photography. During her 12 year career, Elli has worked extensively in Europe, Sydney, Melbourne and most recently, New York and Milan.
A recipient of numerous awards including BMW Fashion Photography (Melbourne), PX3 Paris, Honorouble Mention category winner 2009, B&W Spider Awards (UK) finalist fashion category winner,2009.
Seven solo exhibitions and a multitude of group shows, including shows at the National Gallery of Victoria, Gallery 101 Collins and George Gallery (Melbourne) , have not slowed the artists’ dedication to her work – following the launch of Xaos at Hellenic Musuem, Elli is presenting her next exhibition, “via arena” an official event at Salone Internazionale del Mobile, Milano 14-19th April 2010.

Christiana LIVADITIS – Fashion Designer
Christiana completed a Bachelor Degree (with Honours 2B) in Fashion Design at The Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia in 2009.
In 2008, Christiana was invited to present her third year collection at the Athens Xclusive Designers Show in Greece. Christiana won The Best Trendsetter Award in the Young Designers Parade for the collection.
In 2007, Christiana was one of twenty worldwide finalists in the prestigious International Bata Shoe Competition judged by Christian Louboutin. During 2007,
Christiana was selected for the Top Arts 2005 exhibition held at The National Gallery of Victoria, and was invited by The National Gallery of Victoria, to showcase her Victorian Certificate of Education Studio Art folio to art teachers Australia wide.
In November of 2009, Christiana’s fourth year graduate collection, titled A Language of Romance was shown at Melbourne Spring Fashion Week. Upon the success of the show, Christiana has been invited to present the collection at the prestigious L’Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival in 2010.

Nicole Polenta – Jewellery Maker
Nicole Polentas was born in Melbourne in 1984. Nicole received a Bachelor of Fine Arts at RMIT University majoring in Gold and Silversmithing in 2006 and a Master of Fine Arts by coursework at RMIT University in 2008. She is currently studying a Master of Arts and was awarded an Australian Postgraduate Award by RMIT University.
Nicole has exhibited her jewellery nationally and internationally including Galerie Marzee in the Netherlands, Galerie Handwerk in Munich and the Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery in Queensland.
Nicole’s awards for her fine craftsmanship in jewellery include the Diana Morgan Gold & Silversmithing 1st Prize and the Contemporary Wearables ’09, Biennial Jewellery Award 2nd Prize, and her work has been acquired by both the Mac Millan Collection, RMIT University, Melbourne and Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery, Queensland.
