Greece’s Air Transport Halted on Wednesday due to Air Traffic Controllers’ Strike

5All air connections to and from Greece will be completely brought to a standstill for 24 hours on Wednesday due to a strike by the air traffic controllers in the country.
The air traffic controllers decided to join the strike planned for tomorrow of the state and private sectors, in protest against the government’s planned measures for cuts in the budget spending, international media reported today.
The two leading Greek air carriers – Olympic Air and Aegean Airlines, announced the cancellation of all of their domestic and international flights during the strike’s planned duration.
All airports in Greece, including the Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos, will not be having any take-offs or landings on February 24.
