Greek population decreases in Rhine – Westphalia

2222 22-08-15The Greek population in Rhine-Westphalia (Germany) has reportedly decreased by 20% in the past 8 years, according to information of the federated state’s statistical service that was processed by I. Stergopoulos. The Greek population in the area had been reported at 109, 312 in 2001, however in the latest statistical report that number has fallen to 88, 307. The number of males is at 47, 584 and females at 40, 723.
It should be noted that the numbers do not correspond to the number of Greeks that have acquired German citizenship (a low percentage) nor to the seasonal residents that reside in Germany the particular time period (pensioners).
