Dinner for minorities in Turkey

666The Turkish Minister of State, Egemen Bagis, who is responsible for European affairs and chief of negotiations with the European Union, recently hosted a dinner for the heads of religions and minority communities in Constantinople.
The dinner, which was held in a restaurant on the European side of the Bosporus (foto), was attended by Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, Archbishop Aram Atesian, the deputy for the ailing Patriarch of Armenia, Head Rabbi Isaac Haleva, Yusuf Tsetin, as well as Pandelis Vigas, the representative for all minorities of the 15-member Council based in Ankara.
Bagis’ initiative was part of new measures to boost the Turkish government’s contacts with non-Muslim minorities living in Turkey.
