The president of the Federation of Hellenic American Teachers and the World Council of Hellenes Abroad (SAE)’s Education Committee for the US region, Stella Kokolis, has been named “Greek Teacher of the Year 2009” by The National Herald newspaper in New York.
The award will be presented to the co-founder and former president of the Prometheus Greek Teachers Association at a special event to be held at the newspaper’s offices tomorrow. The general consuls of Greece and Cyprus have both been invited to the event as well as the head of the American Archdiocese’s Education Office, politicians, representatives of major Greek-American bodies and others.
