More than 2.000 thousand prominent personalities from 69 countries – including many university professors, writers, artists, local authorities, ambassadors of Hellenism, etc – have signed an open letter from the International Society of Friends of Nikos Kazantzakis, aiming towards saving and promoting the works of the late, great Greek writer, which have been “tragically neglected for many years” as mentioned in a relevant announcement issued by the Society.
“With this open letter we seek immediate publication, republication as well as circulation of the works of the great Cretan writer as well as taking care of the issue of translations”, said the announcement. The letter was signed – amongst others – by the Lawyer of Nelson Mandela, Georgios Bizos, from Johannesburg.
