Greek firm Intralot chosen to run D.C. lottery

A Greek firm has been granted a contract to run the D.C. Lottery.
The D.C. City Council voted Tuesday to ratify the deal with Intralot. The five-year contract is worth approximately $38 million. Despite voting in Intralot’s favor, some council members criticized the selection process.
The choice has been about two years in coming. Intralot was chosen in 2008 but the council criticized the process as flawed. Intralot will replace Lottery Technology Enterprises which has run the D.C. Lottery for 26 years.pixel.gif
