Heiti Hääl sells top horse to successor of Aristotle Onassis

Estonian oil businessman and horse stable owner Heiti Hääl has finally sold A Big Boy, Estonia’s best jumping horse.

Eesti Ekspress interviewed Hääl in his office in Alexela Oil Company after he had signed a deal with Athina Onassis, the 24-year-old successor of Greek billionaire Aristotle Onassis.
Hääl said that Athina who herself is an excellent rider and competes in the Nation Cup team of Greece first sent her horse trader to make the deal, but Hääl refused.
“She was angry at the trader that he failed to get A Big Boy and contacted me personally,” said Hääl, adding that her husband is a Brazilian rider Alvaro Miranda Neto who has competed in four Olympic Games and won team bronze medal from Atlantas and Sydney. “This increases the likelihood that A Big Boy will be jumping in the Olympic games,” said Hääl.

Hääl said that Athina and Doda noticed A Big Boy last year in the European Championships in Windsor when the Estonian rider Rein Pill was seventh after the first day.

Hääl refuses to mentioned the price of A Big Boy, but admits that it was several million euros. When asked how Estonia’s top rider Rein Pill feels after the owner sold A Big Boy, Hääl said that he had an agreement that Rein would get 10% of the sale price.

“I told him that Rein, you are 48 years old and this is your chance to insure your future until the end of your life. You will be the first Estonian rider who becomes a millionaire,” said Hääl who closed the deal last Thursday.
