Among the 50 finalists for the “Best Job in the World” there is a Greek girl named Kat. As she states in her one minute video application, Kat was born in Canada and currently lives in Greece. She speaks four languages and loves travelling. The fifty finalists were chosen from 34.500 applications that Queensland Tourism received and eleven of them will fly to Hamilton Island on May for interviews.
The “best job” involes little more than relaxing on the beach and writing the odd blog about life in paradise. The winner will live in a luxurious villa and will be encouraged to explore the islands of the Great Barrier Reef. The salary is $150,000 for six months.
The top 50 will be whittled down to a final 10 by Tourism Queensland, and an 11th wild card applicant will be chosen by popular vote on the job’s website.
